To get started, open the Command Prompt. Right-click on the title bar and click Properties in the menu.

Adjust font size and color in Command Prompt

Most users want to change the size of the font or the color of the font in the Command Prompt. Some because they like it better, others because it helps with visual impairments.

Click on the Font tab. You have a choice of font sizes here. The default font size is 16. You can also change the font itself. Optionally you can also choose to display the font in bold.

Here you have the choice to customize 4 different parts of the Command Prompt.

Screen Text

Customizing Command Prompt Layout

If you want to change the size of the Command Prompt window. So if you want the Command Prompt window to be larger or smaller when you open it, you do this in the following way.

Click on the Layout tab. Then to adjust the window size, change the width and height to the desired size. You can immediately see how the change looks in the preview window on the right.

Optionally, you can still adjust the window position on the screen by changing the settings. Screen buffer size is the amount of text that fits in the window. Only adjust this if you know what you are doing. All values in the image below are the default values.
