In Windows 10, a feature can automatically improve the screen quality of apps if they display blurry text.
In addition to this feature, it is possible to improve blurry font by using ClearType text customization.
Let Windows try to fix apps, so they’re not blurry
The first way to improve the blurry text on a Windows 10 PC is to check if the “Let Windows try to fix apps, so they’re not blurry” feature is enabled.
Fix apps that are blurry
In the search bar in the taskbar type: blurry apps. Then click on the “Fix apps that are blurry” result.
Check that the “Let Windows try to fix apps so they’re not blurry” feature is enabled.
If this feature is enabled, Windows 10 will try to fix blurry text issues on its own.
Adjust DPI settings per app
DPI means “dot per inch.” You can adjust it on a per-application basis to solve blurry text problems. To start, go to the executable file of the app that shows blurry text.
If it is a shortcut, right-click on the shortcut and click “open file location”.
Then right-click on the executable file (*.exe). In the menu click on “properties” and click on the tab “Compatibility”.
Next, click on the “Change high DPI settings” button.
Enable the following two settings.
- Use this setting to fix scaling problems for this program instead of the one in Settings.
- Override high DPI scaling behavior scaling performed by: Application.
Click OK to confirm and restart your PC. Check if after that the blurry text in this app is solved.
ClearType text adjustment.
By adjusting text with the app ClearType, you can display text on the screen more sharply and clearly. Text is, therefore, easier to read.
Check the “Turn on ClearType” option and click next.
