Microsoft has again released a new insider preview for computers signed up for the Windows insider program DEV (“developers”).
This time with version number 22572. Insider build 22572 again offers several new features, apps, and improvements in Windows 11. However, it is unclear if all changes and features will be added in official Windows 11 versions.
Windows 11 Insider build 22572 – What’s new?
Microsoft Family app
The family app in Windows 11 allows parents to filter inappropriate apps and inappropriate websites for children. These features were previously available on cell phones and over the Internet, but now they are available in Windows 11.
Among other things, you can use the family app to set screen time for your child(ren) on a Windows computer, an Xbox, and Android. In addition to setting limitations, parents can also monitor their children’s activity, using reports.
Clipchamp is a new app that helps with video editing, developed by Microsoft. Clipchamp offers all the basic functionality to edit videos such as a timeline, cut, paste, add animations, edit audio, and more.
In addition to all the basic functionality, there is a library of free and paid predefined videos, audio files, and images in addition to all the basic functionality. Users can add these to make the video even more attractive.
There is a link between the Azure text and speech function to provide videos with spoken audio. Sharing videos become even more accessible with integration with OneDrive.
Search in the taskbar
Search in the taskbar has also been modified in insider build 22572. The search box in Start and Search is regularly updated with content, including fun illustrations, that help you discover more, stay connected, and stay productive. These hints in the search box give you a taste of what to expect in the search results at home.
Search highlights present notable and exciting moments, such as holidays, anniversaries, and other educational moments in time, both globally and in your region.
The left side of Search also displays a comprehensive list of recently started apps, files, settings, and websites to help you go back to what you were last working on.
Printer Queue new design
There are also some improvements again in this insider build. For starters, Microsoft has begun improving the “print queue”. This has now been updated to match the design of Windows 11.
New logo for Quick Access and Windows Sandbox
In addition, the Quick Assist and Windows Sandbox app have been redesigned with a new logo, and the system icon for “do not disturb” has been updated.
Windows Media Player new name
The name “Windows Media player” referring to the old “Windows Media Player” has been renamed to “Media Player legacy”.
Show more options key
From now on, if you click SHIFT + the right mouse button in File explorer on a shortcut or app, it will automatically open the “show more options” menu. Also known as the old right-click menu in Windows 11.
